Faculty in the School of Natural Resources (SNR) focus on information needed for management and conservation of natural ecosystems. Graduate programs of study in SNR include MS and PhD degrees in Range Management, Watershed Management, Wildlife & Fisheries Science, and Renewable Natural Resources Studies, an interdisciplinary program. For a recent 7-year program review by CSREES, faculty in each of these tracks, identified some common expectations for graduate students: to acquire advanced background in natural and social sciences related to natural resources, to strengthen communication skills, to practice interdisciplinary interactions, to develop skills in quantitative analysis and critical thinking, and to be prepared to take on careers in research, teaching, or management and conservation.
