School faculty use course-specific exams, papers, oral presentations, and exercises to assess student progress toward learning outcomes. Also, faculty have developed curricula that help students meet certification criteria of professional societies (e.g., Society of Range Management, American Fisheries Society, Wildlife Society) and OPM qualification standards. University-wide, standardized teacher-course evaluations are administered in nearly all courses each semester. Summaries of student responses are reported to course instructors and the School director, and anonymous student suggestions for course improvement are reported to instructors.
