Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) Program

Administered: Fall, spring and summer semesters pre-registration

Target Population: All incoming U of A students

Participation Rate: The entire U of A student body (exclusive of those who may have medical reasons that prevent their participation)

A Public Health policy requirement of the Arizona Board of Regents, administered by the Campus Health Service to assure that all of the U of A student body is vaccinated against Measles, Mumps and Rubella prior to registration for classes.

Outcomes Measured

  • Assure maximal compliance (98% or better) with the AzBOR requirement of all UA students having the Mumps, Measles and Rubella (MMR) immunization prior to registering for classes at the UA.

Findings

The Campus Health Service achieved a 99% level of fully vaccinated U of A students (again) in the fall of 2005.

Changes Made on Basis of Findings

Results in the U of A meeting the AzBOR public health requirement of assuring compliance with vaccination for Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) for all incoming students to the U of A.
99% participation vaccination rate achieved – all students screened, but some medical conditions prevent a 100% participation rate.
