Linguistics

Overview:

The Department of Linguistics offers a BA in Linguistics, an MA in Native American Linguistics (NAMA), an MS in Human Language Technologies (HLT), a Ph.D. in Linguistics, and a joint Ph.D. in Linguistics and Anthropology (with the Anthropology Department, ANLI).  The Department trains students to work in teaching, research, industry, and indigenous language community programs.

Expected Learning Outcomes:

See separate undergraduate and graduate assessment pages.

Assessment Activities:

All surveys and quizzes across all programs are administered through Qualtrix.  The undergraduate advisor takes charge of notifying graduate undergraduates about the student quiz and student survey.  For all graduate programs, the Graduate Program Coordinator (a staff member) sends the Qualtrix link to the faculty committee members on each oral exam, Ph.D. defense, or written thesis/internship report.  That staff person also sends the Qualtrix link for the graduate student survey to graduating students.  The data from all assessment activities is returned to the Assessment Committee.  See undergraduate and graduate pages for specific assessment activities.

Assessment Findings:

Change in Response to Findings:
