The Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics with a Computer Science Emphasis is a degree that will prepare students for careers in many industries including (but not limited to) business management, manufacturing, aerospace, communications, pharmaceutical and other private industries. Students develop necessary and transferable skills that include critical thinking, problem diagnosis, problem solving, computer skills and quantitative skills. These skills assist students when preparing for graduate programs or entering the job market. Classes are available for this degree in a variety of locations in traditional classroom settings as well as via the flexibility of online classes.
As a Shared Program, the Program uses the same Expected Learning Outcomes as the Main Campus Program. The faculty is consulting with the Main Campus Program to ensure that UAS's Learning Outcomes are aligned. The information for the Main Campus program can be found at http://assessment.arizona.edu/sci/Mathematics%20Undergrad
UA South offers a single subplan so the faculty and leadership will discuss how to use the methods and outcomes designed by Main Campus during 2017 for implementation in the 2018-19 academic year at the latest.
