UA Assessment Showcase 2012: Using Assessment Results to Improve Your Program

This year’s showcase will feature a presentation by keynote speaker Dr. Jo Beld, Professor of Political Science and Director of Evaluation and Assessment, St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN.  Presentations will also be given by leaders from UA programs that have demonstrated exceptional progress in program assessment.  The event is sponsored  by the Office of the Provost, the Assessment Coordinating Council, and the Office of Instruction and Assessment.  

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Jo Beld is a Professor of Political Science and Director of Evaluation and Assessment at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Working with both faculty and staff using managable assessment methods, she has cultivated a focus on inquiry in assessment to determine how educational practices impact student learning. Under Dr. Beld’s leadership, the St. Olaf assessment program received a 2010 Award for Outstanding Institutional Practice in Student Learning Outcomes from the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). In addition, Dr. Beld has facilitated workshops and given presentations on assessing student learning in higher education at a wide array of regional and national conferences.
